Jutta Kramm is new head of communications at the MDC

Jutta Kramm took over on October 1, 2018, as head of the Communications Department at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (MDC). Kramm, 59, was previously a PR manager and spokesperson at the children’s rights organization Save the Children Germany.

Prior to that, she worked for many years as a journalist for the daily newspaper Berliner Zeitung, initially in the local news department and later in the politics department. Kramm served as the newspaper’s deputy chief editor from 2009 to early 2017. She then went on to lead the fact-checking team at the non-profit investigative newsroom Correctiv, which helped track down so-called fake news during the Bundestag election.

Jutta Kramm studied Journalism and Latin American Studies at Berlins Free University and began her journalistic career at the daily newspaper taz in 1985.
